Born in San Sebastian (Guipuzcoa), spent the first years of my life in Irun, border town, where starting early in my painting career, under the guidance of my father (an architect) and in contact with prominent painters as Gaspar Montes Iturrioz and Enrique Albizu. In those first steps I accompanied my brother José Carlos, then also dedicated to painting and illustration.
Later I completed my apprenticeship in San Sebastian, under the guidance of the painter Miguel Angel Alvarez.
In 1975 presentee my first exhibition in San Sebastian and, soon after, I applied and got the 1st. Contest Prize Painters of Guipuzcoa.
After that, for several years developing an intense exhibition activity, making numerous solo exhibitions in prestigious galleries: Echeberría (San Sebastian), Art (Bilbao), Sokoa (Madrid) and in rooms entities: Ministry of Information and Tourism, savings of Guipuzcoa and Zaragoza .. and Merida and Caracas (Venezuela)
During the same period also participated in many group exhibitions in galleries and institutions referred to themselves and others: Kriss (Irun), Studio (San Sebastian), Berthee (Pamplona), Museo de San Telmo (San Sebastian), and entities of Zarautz , Toulouse, Mondragon, Lerida, Torredembarra?
After such intense period decided to develop my artistic activity more calmly. I take time to visit different countries in Europe.
After a residence time in Britain and, until 2005, not to make any display back, dedicating myself to paint in the quiet of my studio, my creative synchronizing with teaching drawing and painting.
From this year, having moved my home and my studio to La Rioja, where also continued my teaching, back to expose, both individually and collectively: Palencia, Leon, Valladolid, Logroño ....
My activity has also been extended over the years, side performances to illustrate books and newspaper articles, or design and construction of sets and costumes for theater and ballet.
